1. Introduction

ReplyChat ("we", "our", "us") is a Chrome extension that provides on-the-fly translation by forwarding the text you enter to an AI provider. This Privacy Policy explains what (minimal) data we handle, how it is used, and how to contact us.

2. Data We Handle

We do not collect or store personal data on our servers. The only data the extension transmits is the text you actively submit for translation and the minimal metadata required to perform the request (for example, extension version or request timestamp). We do not retain user inputs on our servers after forwarding them.

Note: Third-party providers that process the request (see section 4) may receive additional technical information such as your IP address as part of the network request. Such information is controlled by those providers and subject to their privacy policies.

3. How We Use Your Data

We only use the data to perform the translation or AI processing you requested. In practice this means your input text is sent to an AI provider to generate the translated output and then returned to your browser. We do not use inputs for any other purpose (e.g., profiling or advertising) and we do not sell user data.

4. Third Parties

To provide core functionality, we forward user input to third-party AI providers. Currently, this includes OpenAI. Please consult third-party privacy policies for details about their data handling. We have no control over those providers practices.

5. Storage & Retention

We do not persistently store user input on our servers. Requests are forwarded to the AI provider and responses are returned to the user. Any transient logs used for debugging are short-lived and removed promptly; if you require further details, contact us (see section 9).

6. Security

We use HTTPS for communication between the extension and third-party services. We follow standard security practices to protect any operational data we temporarily handle. Nevertheless, transmissions over the internet carry inherent risks.

7. Children

ReplyChat is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly process personal information from children under the age required by applicable law.

8. Your Rights

If you have questions about how your data is handled or wish to request deletion of any transient operational records we may hold, contact us using the email below. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

9. Limited Use Disclosure

In line with Chrome Web Store requirements, data forwarded to third-party AI providers is used only to provide the requested translation or AI response. We do not permit third parties to use user-submitted text for unrelated purposes such as targeted advertising by us. Third-party providers may have separate terms.
